AlterQuest was inspired by a number of diverse concepts and realities.
Each helped shape the AlterQuest organization in different ways.
Ways in which humanity can progress.
1. Examine life on this planet.
2. Search for progressive, spiritual ways to exist.
3. Realize that there are better methods for living.
4. Put these new, beneficial procedures into use.
5. Change the evolution of mankind forever!
Star Trek.
We admit it... we got some of our inspiration from ‘Star Trek’.
“Humanity must change and grow. We must fulfil our potential. Not taking action could cause mankind to falter and wither. We must use our intelligence. The ability to expand our minds and our horizons. We must chart the unknown possibilities of existence and be open to options we never considered.”
Gene Roddenberry was the creator of ‘Star Trek’. He created the series, based around his perception of what life on Earth could be like in the 24th Century. He hoped by then there would be no poverty, war, inequality or greed. Man would have risen against these things and would have won. In his version of the future, men and women were equal and humanity was one race - regardless of color, nationality or religious belief. Some alien species were our friends. Humans were exploring diverse technologies and discovering new parts of the universe.
Star Trek showed that, when humans co-operated together they could achieve so much more.
We don’t believe humanity has to wait till the 24th century to accomplish these things. These could be attained right now - this century, in this new millennium ..... if we use the right blueprint! If man is willing to make an effort, change his perspective and find a new direction, we can achieve our alternative quest much sooner.
Gene Roddenberry said, “The human race is a remarkable creature, one with great potential and I hope that Star Trek has helped to show us what we can be, if we believe in ourselves and our abilities.”
Unfortunately, Mr. Roddenberry died in 1991, without ever seeing his dream fulfilled - but you and others can still make his vision a reality if we unite to do so.
Star Trek is based around the voyages of the Starship Enterprise, which exists in a time when our world is now part of a United Federation of Planets. Mankind has progressed to a point where everyone is encouraged to use their intelligence, knowledge, expertise, talents and abilities, to the best of their capacity. Every person has a sense of purpose. Each has a sense of responsibility and they’ve realized that all men have an important, integrated role to play.
In the 24th century man has abolished war on Earth, deciding instead that peace is the way to go. We have also risen above racial hatred and intolerance and humanity now works together in multi-cultural harmony. This is an orderly society, which knows that only positive advancement will allow our civilization to change and grow. It has outgrown materialism. It has integrated science and religion and has decided that all advancement must meet high ethical and moral standards.

Baha’i Faith.
The entire universe - from the smallest atom, to the cells in our bodies or the largest galaxy - all adhere to a guiding principle. This principle states that everything has a conscious desire to improve itself and to reach the highest point of its potential.
Not only has everything in this existence been meticulously created but the laws which govern them indicate that there must be a higher intelligence with an organizational ability.
For millenniums, generations of humanity have sought to find the purpose of their existence and the direction their lives should take.
Just as our societies have evolved and changed, growing to make new forms of social interaction, technological advances and scientific discovery, so our spiritual faith needs to be renewed and encouraged, ready for new insights which will help us grow into a mature race of beings which can progress and live in harmony.
The Bahà’ì Faith is the latest Guidance in this progressive connection - a connection offered by a Creator, through the Founders of the World’s Faiths, to humanity.
Throughout recorded history mankind has been given guidance. Krishna, Moses, Zoroaster, Buddha, Christ, Muhammad and the Bàb were the instigators of new faiths which we knew as religions.
The latest Messenger of God is Bahà’u’llàh, who lived during the 19th century.
The Messengers all reiterated the same truth - that we should love God and love one another and mankind should be honest, truthful, kind, trustworthy and humble.
Only the social teachings of each religion were different: This is because they were meant for a particular time and place.
Now we are all part of a world society and new laws are necessary.
“ O ye children of men! The fundamental purpose animating the Faith of God and His Religion is to safeguard the interests and promote the unity of the human race, and to foster the spirit of love and fellowship amongst man…”
“Every age hath its own problem, and every soul its particular aspiration. The remedy the world needeth in its present-day afflictions can never be the same as that which a subsequent age may require. Be anxiously concerned with the needs of the age ye live in, and center your deliberations on its exigencies and requirements.” Bahá'u'lláh. Founder of the Baha’i Faith
We would now like to offer you some principles, from the Baha’i Faith which we believe are the next frontier in the evolution of mankind and to which all people should agree - regardless of their race, religion or creed.
If everyone applied these principles the world would become a much improved place for all of us - and isn’t that what all of us want?
“The Earth is but one country and mankind its citizens.” Baha’u’llah.
Here are the principles of the Baha’i Faith:
1. Acknowledge the oneness of mankind.
2. Realize the oneness of religion.
3. Do some independent investigation to discover the truths.
4. Religion must be a source of unity.
5. Over time, religion has been evolving and unfolding.
6. There must be harmony between religion, science and reason.
7. Peaceful consultation is the best means for resolving differences.
8. Our planet needs one international, auxiliary language.
9. There should be education for all people.
10. Our species must eliminate of all forms of prejudice.
11. Humanity needs equality of men and women.
12. We must abolish the extremes of wealth and poverty.
13. Mankind needs to implement global peace.
“The progress of the world, the development of nations, the tranquility of peoples and the peace of all who dwell on Earth are amongst the principles and ordinances of God.” Baha’u’llah.
The Bahà’ì Faith represents a distinctive unification of spiritual thought and ask us all, as individuals, communities and members of a global society to consult and work together to help make life better for ourselves and for everyone. "Let all the religions agree."
